Little Falls, NY (July 27, 2020) – On Sunday night, July 26th, a fatal accident that left two people deceased was reported in the town of Little Falls. Police officials say that it happened on New York State Route 170 at the intersection with Yellow Church Road at around 8:55 p.m.

Investigators have determined that 33-year-old Jason C. Sullivan, of Little Falls, was operating an all-terrain vehicle with a passenger, identified as 35-year-old Matthew A. Cotton, of Herkimer. The ATV proceeded through the intersection where it collided with a 2009 Ford van that was heading south along NY-107. Sullivan and Cotton were both ejected from the ATV due to the impact of the collision.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene where they transported Sullivan to Little Falls Hospital. Cotton was flown to Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse via medical helicopter. Both victims were transported in critical condition, and both were pronounced deceased a short time later.

The driver of the van, identified as 23-year-old Alexander M. Stone, of Little Falls, suffered no injuries during the collision. No charges have been announced but the incident remains under investigation.
