Lyonsdale, NY – Teenager Airlifted After Kosterville Rd Wreck

Lyonsdale, NY (October 10, 2020) – New York State Police investigated a single-vehicle accident that occurred in Lewis County, in the town of Lyonsdale along Kosterville Road on Tuesday, October 6th.

Preliminary reports reveal that at about 1:55 p.m., a 2004 GMC pick-up truck being driven by 22-year-old Mitchell O. Fruin, a resident of Lyons Falls, was driving westbound on Kosterville Road when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, he lost control of his vehicle, swerved off the southbound shoulder of the road, and crashed into a tree.

Fruin was taken via ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with injuries that were classified as non-life-threatening. 

The other occupant of the vehicle, 15-year-old Jordan D. Rogers, a resident of Port Leyden, was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse by Mercy Flight. Roger’s medical condition was listed as stable.  

This accident is still under investigation by local law enforcement.
