Manhattan, NY (October 18, 2019) – Authorities confirmed that one person was tragically killed and two people were injured in an apartment fire that took place in Harlem on Friday afternoon, October 18th.
The fatal blaze broke out inside of a complex located on West 131st Street between Malcolm X Boulevard and Fifth Avenue.
According to the FDNY, a call reporting the fire came in at around 2:52 p.m. and responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Medical crews were also dispatched to the scene where they confirmed that one person was killed in the fire.
Two other victims suffered critical and serious injuries and were promptly transported to local hospitals for additional treatment. Authorities are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.
