New York, NY (August 21, 2020) – A car crash reported in the Washington Heights area left at least one person injured on Thursday. Just after 5 p.m., on August 20, the New York Fire and Police Departments responded to the scene of a crash on Wadsworth Avenue.

Reports show that a crash involving a silver sedan and another vehicle took place in the 300 block of Wadsworth Avenue for unknown reasons. One person became entrapped in their vehicle and had to be assisted by firefighters to exit. At least one person involved in the car crash sustained injuries. Firefighters were seen at the site of the crash using the Jaws of Life to remove the passenger side door of the vehicle. Once out of the vehicle, medical personnel rendered aid to the victims at the scene and transported those in need of further care to local hospitals. Crews secured the area and spent an extended time at the site of the collision while conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. At this time, investigations are ongoing.
