Port Jervis, NY (September 26, 2019) – The man who lost his life after being hit by a commuter train on Tuesday night, September 25th, has been identified by authorities. Police stated that 53-year-old John Erick Evans, of Port Jervis, was killed in the accident at around 8:00 p.m. just off Jersey Avenue.
Evans was near the rear of a Family Dollar store on Jersey Avenue when he was struck by a Metro-North westbound commuter train. Emergency responders arrived at the scene where they pronounced him deceased.
