Queens, NY (September 13, 2020) – Saturday morning, September 12, a fatal truck accident involving a passenger vehicle and a cement truck occurred in Queens.

Police confirmed that the accident happened at 232nd Street and South Conduit Avenue around 10 a.m. A 30-year-old man was driving his passenger vehicle headed east on South Conduit when he passed a cement truck. The truck did not slow down and rear-ended the vehicle, causing the male driver to lose control and hit a pole on the side of the road.

The 30-year-old driver was taken to Franklin General Hospital where he was then pronounced deceased. His 27-year-old female passenger was taken to Jamaica Hospital and has since been listed in stable condition.

The driver of the cement truck, identified as a 32-year-old man, remained at the scene and did not sustain injuries.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
