Roslyn Heights, NY – Officer Injured in Car Crash on Glen Cove Rd

Roslyn Heights, NY (April 18, 2020) – Around 4 a.m. yesterday morning, April 17, an officer was injured in a car crash on Rosyln Heights.

Nassau Police confirmed that two SUVs were speeding on Glen Cove Road. An officer spotted them and tried to pull them over but they kept driving.

One of the drivers attempted to strike the officer’s patrol car. The vehicle tried to speed away but ran into a pole, a tree, and then the police cruiser.

The driver was identified as Rodolfo Lopez, who was immediately arrested and charged with assault and unlawful fleeing. The other driver escaped the scene.

The officer was injured and taken to the hospital but has since been released.

At this time, the investigation into the accident continues.
