Schenectady, NY – Two Killed & Four Critically Injured in Accident on I-890

Schenectady, NY (August 10, 2020) – A crash on Interstate 890 in Schenectady claimed the lives of an 11-year-old boy and a 32-year-old woman, according to New York State Police. The accident took place late on Saturday night, August 8th, at around 11:59 p.m. and also left a total of four others injured.

Troopers responded to the scene after a vehicle carrying six people crashed off the interstate near Exit 9A. Emergency responders pronounced the 32-year-old female victim deceased at the scene. Five other victims were transported to Albany Medical Center. While at the hospital, an 11-year-old boy was also pronounced deceased.

At this time, four of the victims remain hospitalized. Both a 14-year-old girl and a 29-year-old woman have been listed in critical condition. There has been no information reported concerning the current conditions of the other two injured parties.

Police investigators are working to determine the cause of this incident.
