Scotia, NY (April 23, 2020) – A fire incident on Tuesday claimed one victim’s life and left one other injured.
At around 3:30 a.m., on April 21, authorities responded to the scene of a fire incident on North Ten Broeck Street. Reports show that a massive fire broke out at an apartment building located on the roadway for unknown reasons.
The fire spread through several apartments on the third floor.
After extinguishing the fire, crews located the body of 41-year-old Timothy Harpster in unit 301. He was declared deceased at the scene.
One Police Sergeant suffered smoke inhalation injuries and was transported to Ellis Hospital for treatment.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
