Somers, NY (September 8, 2020) – On Tuesday morning, September 8th, New York State Troopers were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle crash that left at least one passenger injured. The accident was reported in the town of Somers along New York State Route 202 around 10:50 a.m.

Troopers say that a vehicle with four occupants struck a guard rail near the Amawalk Reservoir before hitting a tree and landing close to the water. EMS crews arrived at the scene and transported one male passenger to Westchester Medical Center with at least non-life-threatening injuries. The current condition of the injured victim has not been reported.

Three other people inside the car, including a small child, were not hurt in the accident. The driver may have been attempting to avoid an object in the road at the time of the crash but all details are under investigation.
