Trucking Accidents in New York

Staten Island, NY – One Hospitalized After Crash with Overturned Truck on SI Expy

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), fatal collisions involving large and powerful commercial trucks rose to peak levels during the year 2017. Trucking accidents in New York, like anywhere else around the country, are persistently severe due to the size and speed of such enormous vehicles, as well as the actions of other drivers. At this time, it is absolutely critical for victims and their families to fully comprehend that they may have substantial rights as they begin moving forward.

In many instances, trucking accidents, especially those that result in the vehicle overturning, are caused by the improper weight distribution of the cargo that the truck is hauling. Additionally, drivers are commonly forced by their employers to cover as much ground as possible throughout the day, which frequently leads to driver fatigue. Whether a trucking accident is caused by actions of an employer, vehicle manufacturer, or another negligent party, there is no reason why victims should be liable for their own suffering at the hands of another person or entity.
