Newhall, CA (September 19, 2023) – At 3:31 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, CHP responded to a potential auto-pedestrian collision on I-210 West near Maclay St.

A man, possibly facing mental health challenges, walked in lane #2 with outstretched arms wearing no shirt and black pants.

Upon arrival, CHP held all lanes, noting the individual was then on the right shoulder.

A Black Toyota RAV4’s driver believed they might have struck the pedestrian.

However, an Uber passenger disagreed.

LAFD 114 searched but couldn’t confirm a pedestrian hit.

The exact circumstances remain unclear.

The investigation is still ongoing.
