Newington, CT – Vehicle Crash at Friendly’s Causes Fryer Explosion, Injures Employee

Newington, CT (November 20, 2023) – An employee at the Friendly’s restaurant in Newington was hospitalized following a vehicle crash on Sunday, November 19. The incident, which involved a vehicle breaking through the building’s wall, led to the explosion of the restaurant’s fryer.

According to police, the crash occurred when the vehicle hit the fryer’s location. Remarkably, the driver of the vehicle escaped without injuries. Following the incident, utilities in the area were temporarily shut off as a precaution.
