Newport News, VA (February 4, 2023) – A man was left severely hurt as a result of a pedestrian crash that took place on Friday afternoon in Newport News.
At approximately 2:45 p.m., on February 3, officers with the Newport News Police Department were called to the scene of a traffic crash on Jefferson Avenue.
Preliminary reports from NNPD show that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Jefferson Avenue at the intersection of Loftis Boulevard. The pedestrian suffered severe and potentially life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident.
The victim was treated at the scene briefly and rushed to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.
The driver of the vehicle, who remained at the scene of the accident, was uninjured.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by the police department in Newport News.
