Newton, MO (February 12, 2024) – A head-on crash on US Highway 60 and Highway W, 5 miles east of Granby, left three people seriously injured on Friday, February 9. MSGT Kenneth R Sanders reported the accident occurred at 3:41 p.m., involving a 2015 Fiat 500 and a 2011 Mazda CX9.
Kimberly J. Archer, 21, from Purdy, MO, and Kelly R. Wolfe, 20, from Wheaton, MO, both in the Fiat, and Kenneth S. Smith, 58, from Monett, MO, driving the Mazda, were all transported to Mercy in Joplin for their injuries.
The collision happened as the Fiat attempted a left turn and entered the Mazda’s path. The ongoing investigation aims to clarify the events leading up to the crash.
