Niagara Falls, NY (May 20, 2022) – Police have arrested a man after they say he crashed a vehicle into an apartment building and killed a woman who was inside. The fatal incident was reported on Thursday night, May 19th, on St. John’s Parkway in Niagara Falls.

According to law enforcement, a 41-year-old man was driving a 2015 Cadillac when he crashed into several parked vehicles before striking an apartment building. The Cadillac crashed into an apartment and trapped a 64-year-old female resident underneath it.

Emergency responders including firefighters arrived at the scene and freed the victim from the wreckage. She was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The driver of the Cadillac, who had to be extricated from the vehicle, failed a field sobriety test. He was subsequently placed under arrest and is being charged with DWI, vehicular manslaughter, and reckless driving.
