Niagara Falls, NY – Truck Operator Critically Injured in Crash on Niagara St

Niagara Falls, NY (April 18, 2021) – An accident took place at about 5:50 p.m. on Friday, April 16th in the 2700 block of Niagara Street in Niagara Falls.

Sources reported that a dump truck hauling construction debris was traveling eastbound when it swerved to avoid a car pulling out of 27th Street causing the driver to lose control of the truck which then overturned.

The driver, a 40-year-old man, was injured and required extrication by firefighters.

He was transported via ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of leg and head injuries. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.

The truck’s passenger, a 44-year-old man, was able to free himself before rescuers arrived. He was also taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for injuries to his shoulder.  

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
