Bismarck, ND – Three-Vehicle Collision Injures Four on Grant Marsh Bridge

Bismarck, ND (July 27, 2020) – A multi-vehicle collision that caused injuries took place along Interstate 94 on the afternoon of Sunday, July 26th.

As stated by a local news source, at around 4:00 p.m., an 18-year-old resident of Mandan was driving a 1979 Dodge pick-up truck eastbound along the Grant Marsh Bridge between Bismarck and Mandan, when his vehicle suddenly stalled, forcing him to come to a stop on the bridge’s deck.

Driving just behind him in a 2018 Chevrolet Impala was a 20-year-old woman, also from Mandan. Noticing that the truck had stalled, she slowed down, intending to pass it. Before she was able to do so, she was rear-ended by a 2009 Ford F-150 driven by a 22-year-old male. The force of the impact sent the Impala crashing into the back of the Dodge.

All three vehicles came to a stop in the middle of the bridge.

Once paramedics arrived on the scene, all three drivers and one 22-year-old passenger were taken to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck via ambulance for treatment of injuries that were classified as non-life-threatening.

Only one of the crash victims was wearing their seat belt when the accident occurred. Officials on the scene have declined to say which one.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is currently investigating this collision in order to determine cause and liability. There is no word on whether or not any traffic citations have been issued to any of the drivers involved.
