Edgely, ND (July 31, 2020) – A two-car accident took place on a roadway in Edgely this past Tuesday afternoon that caused injuries to two individuals.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol stated that the crash took place at approximately 4:30 p.m. on July 28 at the intersection of Highway 281 and Highway 13.
Dean Johns, 40, of Napoleon was driving a Ford with a trailer attached traveling west through the intersection. A Toyota headed south driven by an unidentified individual aged 64 from Watertown, South Dakota drove through the intersection at the same time as Johns. He struck the trailer and came to a final stop on the north shoulder of Highway 13. The force of the impact caused the trailer to detach and the Ford to roll into a ditch.
Paramedics were present at the scene of the crash assisting those who sustained injuries in the wreck. The Toyota driver was airlifted to Avera Hospital in Aberdeen where they are listed in serious condition. The other driver, Johns, was transported to Wishek Hospital and later released. He also faces charges for causing the accident to take place.
A police investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing at this time.
