Car Accidents in Fargo
Any form of distraction on the part of the driver, such as taking their hands, eyes, or even their mental focus off of their surroundings, is a frequently recorded causative factor in the majority of motor vehicle collisions in North Dakota and throughout the United States as well.
Texting while behind the wheel of a car is an action that is so dangerous that drivers who engage in it are 23 times more likely to be involved in a collision or experience a near-collision event than drivers who are fully focused on the road in front of them.
Drives who send and receive text messages are also six times more likely to get into a car accident than a driver who is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Based on data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2017 almost 3,200 car accidents victims across the country were killed during car accidents where a distracted driver is listed as being the cause. This figure accounts for just under 10% of the total number of deadly car accidents that occurred that year.
