Oak Grove, WI (April 21, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a serious two-vehicle crash Sunday morning in the Town of Oak Grove that left two teenagers injured and several others involved.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 11:26 a.m. on April 20th, near the intersection of US Highway 10 and County Road QQ. Authorities say the collision involved two SUVs—one traveling southbound on County Road QQ, and the other heading eastbound on US Highway 10.
The southbound vehicle was driven by a 36-year-old from Chippewa Falls, WI, and was carrying three passengers: a 34-year-old adult and two 5-year-old children, all also from Chippewa Falls. The eastbound SUV was operated by a 46-year-old from River Falls, WI, who had two teen passengers—a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old, both from River Falls.
Emergency medical services, including Ellsworth Ambulance and Life Link Helicopter, were quick to respond to the scene. First responders provided immediate assistance to the injured individuals, coordinating transport for both teenagers to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. The 19-year-old was airlifted via helicopter, while the 16-year-old was transported by ground ambulance. Both were reported to have sustained undetermined injuries, and their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office has not released further information on the cause of the crash, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the factors that led to the collision.
Our thoughts are with those recovering from this incident, and we hope for a full recovery for the injured teens.
Two-Vehicle Accidents in Wisconsin
Sunday’s crash in Oak Grove highlights the dangers that can arise at busy rural intersections like US Highway 10 and County Road QQ, especially where traffic merges from smaller roads onto faster-moving highways. In this incident, two vehicles carrying a total of eight occupants, including young children and teenagers, were involved in a collision that required immediate medical intervention.
This situation is not uncommon across rural areas in Wisconsin, where limited visibility, high speeds, and driver misjudgment can quickly lead to crashes with serious consequences. Intersections between county roads and federal highways can be particularly hazardous, especially when there is no traffic signal or dedicated turning lane to manage the right-of-way.
While the exact cause of the Oak Grove crash is still under investigation, similar crashes often stem from failure to yield, distracted driving, or difficulty in estimating the speed of oncoming traffic. The fact that two teenagers were hospitalized with undetermined injuries underscores the importance of protective safety measures—seat belts, proper child seating, and cautious decision-making at intersections.
In the wake of crashes involving multiple passengers and injuries, families are often left seeking clarity, not just about what happened, but about what comes next. From medical recovery to insurance and legal support, navigating the aftermath can be overwhelming.
