Oceanside, CA (December 10, 2024) – Emergency responders were quick to arrive at the scene of a hit-and-run incident on I-5 North, near Basilone So, after receiving reports of a collision with injuries. The crash occurred at approximately 4:35 PM, involving a vehicle that struck another, causing one vehicle to go down an embankment. The driver of the other vehicle, described as a white SUV, continued northbound on I-5, fleeing the scene.
First responders, including units from Camp Pendleton Fire Department, arrived promptly, assessing and treating individuals involved in the accident. A variety of injuries were reported, though further details remain unclear. CHP has since closed the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are working to identify the driver responsible for the hit-and-run and to clear the area.
