Ocoee, FL (July 17, 2023)- According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was tragically killed early on Sunday morning, July 16, 2023, when he was hit by a car on State Road 429 in Ocoee.

The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. north of Plant Street, close to mile marker 24.

According to the accident report, a westbound sedan struck an unnamed pedestrian walking northbound in the SR-429 lanes.

The victim died at the scene, while the 19-year-old driver from Orlando was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The FHP has launched an investigation, and they are waiting for the medical examiner’s office to confirm the pedestrian’s identity.
