Omaha, NE – Pedestrian Struck After Fleeing from Traffic Stop Near Ames Ave & 36th St Causing Injuries

Omaha, NE (December 2, 2024) – A man is hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle during a chaotic incident early Monday morning near the intersection of Ames Ave and 36th St. Omaha Police responded to a traffic stop at approximately 2:00 a.m. for speeding. During the stop, several individuals attempted to flee the scene on foot. One of the fleeing individuals was struck by the car involved in the traffic stop. The injured pedestrian was quickly attended to by emergency responders and transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody by Omaha Police, who are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the condition of the injured pedestrian or the names of those involved.
