What Details Are Commonly Reviewed After a Rollover Collision?
After a rollover collision, investigators often review how and why a vehicle left the roadway. Curves, road surface conditions, weather, and visibility can all affect vehicle control, especially during early morning travel.
The movement of the vehicle before it overturned may also help explain what happened. Tire marks, vehicle damage, and the final resting place of the SUV can provide useful clues about the sequence of events. Trees, ditches, and uneven ground near rural roads may increase the severity of these wrecks.
Medical findings may later help clarify the extent of injuries caused during the rollover. Investigators sometimes examine whether safety restraints were used and whether mechanical issues contributed. Early reports are frequently limited while more evidence is gathered and reviewed.
