Orange City, FL (January 7, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision in Orange City claimed the life of a Deltona man on Monday morning. The crash occurred at 11:26 a.m. in the area of Graves Avenue and the Interstate 4 overpass, according to Orange City police.
Authorities identified the victim as 48-year-old Ancel J. Robinson of Deltona. Despite efforts by medical personnel, Robinson was pronounced deceased at Halifax Health Deltona at 12:32 p.m., approximately an hour after the crash, Orange City police Capt. Jason Ward reported.
The accident involved a 2017 Red Nissan SUV and a 2002 Silver BMW. A preliminary investigation revealed that the Nissan, driven by a 17-year-old from Deltona, was traveling westbound on Graves Avenue when it crossed into the eastbound lane for unknown reasons. The Nissan collided head-on with the BMW, resulting in heavy front-end damage to both vehicles. Robinson, the driver of the BMW, suffered critical injuries and was transported to Halifax Health Deltona, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The teenage driver of the Nissan, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was treated at the scene for injuries. Authorities have not released further details about his condition.
