Orange County, FL – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on State Road 429

Orange County, FL (July 17, 2023) – The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 19-year-old driver struck and killed a man walking on State Road 429 in Orange County early on Sunday morning, July 16, 2023.

The 19-year-old driver was involved in an accident on State Road 429 north of Plant Street at about mile marker 24 at 2 a.m.

A pedestrian, who has yet to be identified, was hit while traveling west on State Road 429 outside a designated crosswalk.

The 19-year-old driver was taken to Orlando Health Central with non-life-threatening injuries, but the pedestrian was killed instantly.

The medical examiner’s office is working to identify the pedestrian while the investigation continues.
