Orange, TX (September 18, 2023) – A major accident on Monday, September 18, 2023, around 4:30 p.m., shut down Hwy 87 in Orange.

City of Orange Police responded to the two-vehicle crash at Southbound Hwy 87 and FM 3247.

A Chevrolet pickup rear-ended a stopped Nissan Sentra.

Five people were in the Nissan. One got airlifted in critical condition.

Another child was also critically injured and taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

The remaining passengers faced serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the truck’s two passengers remained unhurt. 

The investigation is still ongoing.
