Palmyra, NE (September 13, 2023) – A school bus crash sent nine students to a Lincoln hospital on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

At around 7:35 a.m., the Nebraska State Patrol reported a crash on Nebraska 2, a mile east of Palmyra.

The bus slowed to turn, and a trailing Ford F-150 hit it from behind, causing the bus to topple.

Rescue teams from multiple cities responded swiftly. The injured students, aged between 5 and 14, and drivers suffered non-critical injuries and were rushed to Bryan West Campus.

Bryan Health stated that one patient remained admitted while two were in triage.

They did not specify these patients’ identities. The crash temporarily closed Nebraska 2’s westbound lanes.

The investigation is still ongoing.
