Palo Alto, CA (December 14, 2024) – A three-vehicle collision occurred early Saturday morning on northbound US-101 near the Embarcadero Rd onramp in Palo Alto. The crash caused significant traffic disruptions, blocking multiple lanes and requiring emergency response.
The vehicles involved included a gray BMW Z3, which sustained front-end damage, and a commercial vehicle that came to rest in the middle lane. A third vehicle, a small sedan, was located on the right-hand shoulder. Reports indicate the collision caused one vehicle to face the wrong way while partially blocking the slow lane. Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene to assist those involved.
Two individuals reportedly climbed over a nearby fence following the crash, and at least one individual experienced neck and arm pain but declined medical transportation. Tow trucks were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway. Traffic on US-101 North was heavily impacted, with lanes 4 and 5 blocked temporarily while crews worked to clear the scene.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash to determine the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
Our thoughts are with those impacted by this accident, and we wish a full recovery to anyone injured.
