Pawleys Island, SC (October 12, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred on October 10, resulting in the death of a 46-year-old man. The incident took place around 7:15 PM on Ocean Highway near Professional Lane.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Kevin Harrell of Pawleys Island was crossing the highway toward the west when he was struck by a 2002 Ford SUV traveling south. Despite being transported to Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital, Harrell was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was not injured in the crash.
