Pelham, NH (October 23, 2024) – Authorities in Pelham are currently investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred on Tuesday morning, October 22, resulting in serious injuries to a woman. Police were alerted to the scene shortly after 7 a.m. on Mammoth Road, near Muldoon Park.
Upon arrival, officers found the woman sitting on the northbound side of the road. It was reported that she had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The woman sustained significant injuries; however, police indicated that her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. She was subsequently airlifted to Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts, for further medical treatment.
Pelham police are seeking to identify the owner of a white van that is considered a person of interest in this case. Surveillance video of the van was released to the public on Tuesday evening. Authorities believe the vehicle may have damage to the passenger side mirror or the front passenger corner as a result of the collision.
The Hudson Police Department's accident reconstruction team has been called in to assist with the investigation. While the exact circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear, one local resident noted that the area is frequently used by pedestrians for walking and jogging.
