Pembroke, NY (October 24, 2020) – One man was transported to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo after he sustained critical injuries during a car accident on the New York State Thruway on Thursday, October 22nd.
Officers from the New York State Police, at about 8:45 a.m., one car and two tractor-trailers were involved in a collision in the westbound lanes of the Thruway.
An official from the Genesee County Office of Emergency Management said that the driver of one of the tractor-trailers struck the other tractor-trailer as it sat on the side of the road due to a mechanical problem.
The driver of the first semi reportedly sustained critical injuries and was transported by Mercy Emergency Medical Services to Erie County Medical Center.
The other drivers were treated and released at the scene.
