Pemiscot, MO (November 19, 2023) – A severe accident involving a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro occurred on Hwy K, one mile south of Portageville, on Friday, November 17, at 8:15 PM, resulting in multiple serious injuries.
The Camaro, driven by a 17-year-old female juvenile from Portageville, MO, veered off the left side of the road, hit an embankment, and overturned. The driver, along with two passengers, Ryleigh E. Bagwell, 18, and Alexis M. Hamm, 19, also from Portageville, sustained serious injuries.
All occupants, who were not using safety devices, were transported to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti. The Camaro was towed from the scene by Johnson’s Wrecker. The crash is being investigated by TPR L M Jones and CPL A T Grainger of Troop E. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the specific causes of this tragic incident.
