Pemiscot, MO (October 28, 2024) – A significant vehicle collision occurred on Interstate 55, approximately two miles north of the Arkansas state line, at around 7:27 PM. The incident involved a Mercedes Benz and a Freightliner truck, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.
Preliminary reports indicate that the accident involved a 2011 Mercedes Benz, driven by 29-year-old Kevin L. Heard from Bonita, LA, and a 2021 Freightliner, driven by 35-year-old Brant D. Little from Jonesboro, AR. The crash occurred when Heard's Mercedes traveled into the path of the Freightliner while both vehicles were heading southbound on the interstate.
The impact resulted in extensive damage to the Mercedes Benz, which was towed from the scene by Sullivan's Towing. Fortunately, the Freightliner sustained no damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
Kevin Heard did not have a safety device in use at the time of the accident and sustained moderate injuries. He was transported by EMS to Great River Medical Center in Blytheville for medical evaluation and treatment.
