Phoenix, AZ (September 19, 2023) – Late Monday morning, September 18, 2023, a fire engine collided with a flatbed truck on Wier Avenue, near 40th Street and Roeser Road.
Celeste Elias, a nearby worker, described a loud boom followed by a brown dust cloud.
When the dust cleared, Elias saw firefighters exiting their damaged truck.
She observed firefighters assisting the flatbed driver, noting no severe injuries.
In total, four firefighters and the flatbed driver went to the hospital in stable condition.
The fire truck’s windshield and tire were damaged, and the flatbed’s gas tank punctured but quickly sealed.
The investigation is still ongoing.
