Pinellas County, FL (September 18, 2023) – A DUI crash on southbound I-275 led to the death of a 48-year-old passenger on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

The vehicle veered off the road, crashing into a tree.

Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the passenger’s death at the crash site.

The driver, Sara Elizabeth Murphy, 36, was intoxicated and drove on a suspended license.

Authorities arrested Murphy, charging her with DUI manslaughter and related license offenses.

She remains detained at the Pinellas County Jail.

The investigation is still ongoing.
