Plaquemines Parish, LA – Fatal Crash on LA-23 Near Capt. Larry Ln

Plaquemines Parish, LA (November 21, 2023) – On Sunday, November 19, a two-vehicle collision on LA-23 near Capt. Larry Ln resulted in a fatality. Louisiana State Police report that around 4:50 a.m., Peter Thomason, 48, collided with a Toyota while driving south in his Jeep.

Thomason attempted a lane change but struck the Toyota’s rear. The impact caused the Toyota to veer off-road, hitting a utility pole’s base. Michael Carr, 32, the Toyota’s driver, sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

The Toyota’s passenger received minor injuries and was hospitalized. Authorities arrested Thomason, finding his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit. He faces charges including vehicular homicide and negligent injury.

The investigation into this tragic incident is actively continuing.
