Polk County, FL – DUI Manslaughter Results in Fatal Crash, One Woman Killed

Polk County, FL (July 24, 2023)- The FHP said a woman was killed, and another was arrested on suspicion of DUI manslaughter on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Quarpaesha Prather, the driver of an eastbound sedan, was approaching Galloway Road at 4:10 a.m.

The victim was driving a sedan ahead of Prather’s at the time.

When Prather’s car crashed into the back of the victim’s car, it tipped over onto the south shoulder of the highway, where the driver was fatally ejected.

Prather’s car stopped on the south shoulder of the road.

Later, FHP Troopers apprehended Quarpaesha Raquel Prather on suspicion of DUI Manslaughter.

The  44-year-old injured passenger was treated at a hospital.
