Pottsville, PA (June 14, 2025) – A serious crash involving three vehicles resulted in multiple injuries, including three people being airlifted to trauma centers Thursday evening on the 800 block of the Gordon Nagle Trl in Pottsville. The accident occurred at approximately 6:06 p.m., triggering a large-scale emergency response.
According to the Pottsville Bureau of Police, a 2017 GMC Sierra driven by 26-year-old Noah Shaak was traveling northbound when it veered into the southbound lane. The Sierra first collided with a trailer being towed by a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, forcing that vehicle off the road. It then struck a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
Immediately following the impact, the Sierra caught fire. Thanks to the swift arrival of the Pottsville Bureau of Fire Department, the flames were quickly brought under control. Emergency medics from Schuylkill EMS provided initial treatment to victims at the scene.
Three individuals with critical injuries were flown to trauma centers by Life Flight helicopters. Five others from the vehicles involved were treated on site and transported to local hospitals for further evaluation.
The Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Unit and Crash Reconstruction Unit assisted local authorities in investigating the scene. Fire police and additional first responders were also involved in managing the aftermath.

Multi-Vehicle Collision Risks on Regional Highways
Crashes involving multiple vehicles, such as the incident on Gordon Nagle Trl, often result in heightened injury risks due to the chain-reaction nature of these collisions. High-speed travel combined with driver error, as seen in this northbound lane deviation, can turn any roadway into a high-risk zone.
When fire is involved, the urgency of response is even greater. The prompt extinguishing of the vehicle blaze in this incident likely prevented further injury or loss of life. Such scenarios highlight the vital importance of coordinated emergency service readiness.
For victims of serious crashes, recovery may include extensive medical care, therapy, and long-term rehabilitation. Emotional trauma, financial burdens, and legal complexities can further strain individuals and families in the aftermath.
