Powhatan, VA (February 2, 2023) – A traffic accident took place in Powhatan on Wednesday evening that claimed one person’s life. At around 6:25 p.m. on February 1, authorities were called to the scene of a crash on Genito Road.
According to law enforcement, a traffic accident took place in this 2700 block of Genito Road during the evening hours.
One person became trapped inside of their vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. One vehicle caught on fire as a result of the accident.
An unknown number of people received medical care for injuries following this accident.
One person was fatally injured due to the accident. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of their injuries.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the traffic accident are being investigated.
