Pratt, KS (September 13, 2023) – A collision occurred just before 10:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 54 at NE 45th on Monday, September 11, 2023.

A semi-truck carrying hazardous material slowed down near a railroad crossing.

An 18-year-old from Kingman, driving a Jeep Wrangler behind the truck, couldn’t stop in time and collided with the semi’s trailer.

The Wrangler’s driver suffered serious injuries and received treatment at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita.

The truck’s two occupants were unharmed.

The highway reopened after a few hours.

The investigation is still ongoing.
