Prince William County, VA (September 17, 2025) – A serious crash at the intersection of Dumfries Rd and Spriggs Rd claimed the life of a Woodbridge resident on Monday afternoon. The collision occurred around 1:32 p.m. and involved a passenger vehicle and a cement truck, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
Emergency responders from Prince William Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene and transported the driver of a 2014 Mazda CX-5 to a nearby hospital. Sadly, the driver, identified as 66-year-old Eagleheart Patrick Roberds of Woodbridge, succumbed to his injuries later that day.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Mazda was traveling on Spriggs Rd and entered the intersection against a red light, striking a westbound 2025 Mack cement truck traveling on Dumfries Rd. Investigators noted that Roberds may have suffered a medical emergency before entering the intersection, which could have contributed to the incident.
The driver of the cement truck, a 50-year-old man from Manassas, was uninjured and remained on the scene to cooperate with investigators. Authorities do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
The Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit continues to examine the circumstances of the crash. Witnesses are encouraged to come forward with any relevant information.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Eagleheart Patrick Roberds during this time of loss.
