Pulaski County, VA (December 23, 2020) – One person has lost their life and two were arrested after an SUV struck a pedestrian this past Sunday, December 20. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash scene, along with paramedics. The pedestrian who lost his life was identified as Brian Blevins of Pulaski.
Police stated that an SUV sideswiped a police cruiser after traveling over the centerline of the roadway on Alum Spring Road. The driver of the Pontiac SUV then attempted to turn right from Alum Spring onto Eugene Street, where they struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash where they began performing life-saving efforts to try and save the injured pedestrian, who was later pronounced deceased at the scene by Pulaski County Emergency Medical Services.
The driver of the SUV and his passenger were not injured in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office. They were later identified as Henry Fenner Jr of Pulaski and Austin Zoch, as well as Nelson Malone
Police stated that Fenner was arrested for driving while intoxicated, eluding police, and hit and run. Zoch was arrested for public intoxication. Both were transported to the New River Regional Jail.
