Pulaski, MO (October 19, 2024) – A serious motorcycle accident occurred on Interstate 44 at Mile Marker 157, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The incident took place at approximately 11:09 a.m. and involved two vehicles, resulting in significant injuries.
According to the accident report, the crash occurred when a 2003 Suzuki GSX1300RK motorcycle, operated by 33-year-old Nathan Jeffries from Montreal, was being pursued by the Saint Robert Police Department. As the motorcycle approached a 2017 Ford Escape, driven by 50-year-old Jeffery Brueggeman from Ballwin, MO, at a high rate of speed, Jeffries attempted to avoid a collision. However, he lost control, skidded, and struck the rear of the Ford Escape.
The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn, and Jeffries was ejected from the vehicle. The motorcycle then traveled off the left side of the roadway, colliding with a cable barrier. Meanwhile, Brueggeman managed to bring his vehicle to a controlled stop on the right shoulder of the interstate.
Emergency responders from Pulaski County Ambulance District transported Jeffries to Fort Leonard Wood Hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries. Brueggeman, who sustained minor injuries, was taken to Phelps Health by Dixon Ambulance for further evaluation.
Our thoughts are with those involved in this serious accident, and we hope for a swift recovery for the injured parties.
