Queens, NY (December 21, 2022) – Multiple residents and three firefighters were reportedly injured during a major house fire that broke out in the Whitestone area of Queens. It happened early Wednesday morning, December 21st, at approximately 6:30 a.m.
According to law enforcement, a fire started in the basement of a house located on 23rd Avenue for undetermined reasons. Emergency responders were called to the scene, where the flames spread to the upper floors of the house.
Firefighters battled the flames, and EMTs worked to assist those involved. A total of eight civilians and three firefighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The events that caused the fire are under investigation.
