Queens, NY (March 22, 2023) – At about 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday morning, March 22nd, authorities in the Maspeth neighborhood of Queens received a call concerning a residential fire.
According to official reports, crews with the FDNY were sent to the scene of a serious apartment fire located at 50-16 64th Street. Upon arrival, firefighters located a unit that was on fire and swiftly worked to extinguish the flames and locate any injured residents.
EMS workers that accompanied firefighters at the scene worked to provide assistance for all those involved. A total of five people sustained injuries classified as moderate and minor. One of the injured victims was reported to be a police officer.
All wounded parties were transported to local medical Centers for treatment. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the fire.
