Queens, NY (November 12, 2022) – An erratic driver struck and killed a man who was standing outside of his tractor-trailer near 57th Street in Queens on Wednesday, November 9th.
Reports show that the 49-year-old truck operator exited his vehicle in the eastbound lane of Grand Avenue in Maspeth at about 3:00 a.m. when the driver of a westbound Chevy sedan crossed over the double yellow line, hitting him.
The Chevy’s driver, a 43-year-old woman, also crashed into the parked tractor-trailer.
The truck operator sustained several injuries and was pronounced at the scene.
The woman remained on the scene and was transported by ambulance to Elmhurst Hospital Center in non-critical condition.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
