Queens, NY (July 15, 2023) – A structure fire occurred on a roadway in Fresh Meadows, Queens, on the evening of Thursday, July 13. According to reports, one person suffered injuries in the blaze.
The incident was reported on 195th Street when a vacant home caught fire for reasons still under police investigation. Firefighters who responded to the scene raised a second alarm, indicating a need for additional assistance and resources at the site of the fire.
The roof of the structure fully collapsed as fire crews were using two fire hoses to douse the flames. Local reports show that one civilian and one firefighter suffered injuries.
Paramedics rendered aid to the injured victims at the scene and transported them to the hospital for further care. Their identities have not been reported at this time.
Police in Queens continue to investigate the circumstances of the fire.
