Queens, NY (May 12, 2023) – One person was seriously injured in a high-rise apartment fire in Murray Hill at the intersection of 35th Avenue and 147th Street on May 12th at around 11:56 a.m. The fire reportedly started on the 4th floor of the building and quickly spread to other floors, causing panic among residents.
Eyewitnesses say that thick smoke and flames billowed out of the windows as firefighters rushed to the scene. The FDNY declared the fire under control after a thorough search of the building, while the EMS transported one injured person to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the victim’s condition is unknown at this time. The building’s management company is yet to release any statements about the incident.
